Positions
Eric Forman Studio is seeking interns to work with us in our amazing Brooklyn Navy Yard studio at Newlab.
Time commitment is flexible and ranges from 14 to 40 hours per week, depending on workload and your availability; this is designed to give the intern a fair opportunity to work at other jobs or on their own projects.
There are two general position types:
Fabrication / Creative Technology interns will work with:
- woodworking
- metal machining
- traditional fabrication
- digital fabrication
- physical computing
- electronics and circuit design
- programming
- machine learning and AI
- interaction design
- mechatronics
Communications / PR interns will work with:
- curatorial strategy
- catalog and grant writing
- social media strategy
- public relations
- graphic design
- website design
- photography
- video documentation and editing
- studio business administration
Benefits
This is an unpaid position but qualifies for internship stipends provided by some universities, as well as school credit. This listing complies with the New York State Minimum Wage Act and Wage Orders and the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements
We are looking for interns who are technically minded, organized, creative, and thorough.
Fabrication interns should have experience with at least two of the following: physical computing, architecture, industrial design, electrical engineering, computer science, or furniture design / woodworking.
Communications interns should have experience with at least two of the categories listed in the Position description (photography, PR, etc.).
